Having previously used Waxler Hospitality Group for Secret Shopper reports, we knew where to go when we were looking for guidance with our in-house reservations team. Mark and his team brings a layer of professionalism and knowledge that is needed when you want to look from the ‘outside in”. The information that Mark provided to us through their detailed ‘shop’ calls to the reservations team, allowed us to increase our close rate by 100% from the previous month. We put together specific incentive programs based on Mark’s research and the team responded with great results. Although we have utilized other sales training programs, the effectiveness of Mark’s suggestions and recommendations will certainly have us engage in the services of Waxler Hospitality Group again – thanks Mark!

Since my arrival at the Westford Regency Hotel and Conference Center, I have had the pleasure to work with Mr. Mark Waxler on our on-going renovation project. During this time I have found Mark to be of the highest integrity. He has worked closely with me turning my ideas into designs, and those designs into actual products needed for the renovation.
Mark has a vast knowledge of the all aspects of the hospitality industry and a firm grasp of needs vs. wants. His contact network within the supplier side of the industry is diverse, approachable, and cost efficient. His contact network gave me the ability to choose like products from 3 different vendors at 3 or sometimes more price points. Working closely with several different vendors has given the hotel the ability to complete more rooms in less time than previously done.
Thus far on this second phase of renovation we have saved over 34% on our renovation costs. This translate into us being able to purchase 35 rooms of FF&E for the same cost as what we were previously able to purchase 24 rooms. In addition since Mark has brought to the table additional vendors, we are confident that we will be able to save an additional 10%.
In closing, Mark has brought to the project a level of professionalism and cost awareness that was not present until his arrival on the property. I would highly recommend Mark for any and all renovation projects you may be considering.

I would highly recommend Mark Waxler for anyone looking to plan a well organized, affordable and unique event, especially a wedding! As an event planner by training, I knew it was going to be difficult to turn over the reins and trust my vendors when it came to my own wedding. Getting married out of state was even harder. Working with Mark made it incredibly easy. He was always open to hearing my newest (and sometimes craziest) idea. From measuring the risers the venue had on site when we thought about having a 10-piece 80s cover band to ensuring all of our guest's special dietary requests were handled properly to helping us find ways to cut costs without compromising quality on the venue, linens, cake and even party favors (Boston Red Sox ice cream helmets), Mark was always prompt, thorough and up to the challenge on any day and oftentimes any hour. My husband and I got the unique wedding we wanted at the right price with the right vendors thanks to Mark. The rehearsal dessert party on the second floor of a hot new venue in town, meaningful ceremony and spectacular reception were exactly what we were hoping to experience on our big day. Our entire wedding weekend was perfect and Mark was there every step of the way.
Thanks a million!
I'd like to personally thank Mark for his efforts here at Sebasco Harbor Resort.
We've hired other secret shopper services over the years, but not one of those reports created came close to being as thorough and detailed he shared about his stay here at the resort.
More importantly, the unique perspective he was able to provide as an accomplished hotelier and the solutions he suggested to help make us better are great. All of us who are in the business are proud of what we do, but we all know there is always room for improvement. The professional way he presented his findings certainly helped when initiating the adjustments needed to make those improvements.
I really appreciated his efforts and look forward to working with him in the future.
I have worked with Mark of the Waxler Hospitality Group for many years. He has assisted me in many activities through the numerous professional and personal organizations that I belong to. He is a person that never says no and just makes it happen. We have built up a great relationship and I seek his advice even when I am not using his services.
I know that when I use him, that everything will be extremely well done and I would not need to follow up on it. He provides a variety of services and anyone choosing to use him cannot go wrong.

Mark Waxler has worked with me for many years on fundraisers and legislative projects. He has far exceeded the fundraising goals set for the event. Mark and Waxler Hospitality Group have provided numerous concierge services that have been extremely beneficial and of superior quality. I know that Mark will do whatever it takes to ensure success.
Mark and Waxler Hospitality has served me well for several years. I had the pleasure of working with Mark on several important family events involving nearly 150 out of town guests on two occasions. I have also been fortunate to rely on Mark’s guidance for events involving philanthropic organizations that I have associated with in my years in Central Massachusetts. I am not sure I would be able to take the time to get things “right” without his guidance.

This was an unprecedented undertaking. His hospitality background and vast knowledge of the regional marketplace was critical help with leveraging discounted pricing, analysis of lodging needs & amenities, as well as all ancillary requirements, such as transportation, car rentals, and local cultural sites / tours. Each year we host a VIP Appreciation Event for our best clients. It’s always a great event, but our staff spends a lot of time dealing with the venue, the menu and the details of the event. That’s why we decided to hire Mark Waxler of Waxler Hospitality Group—he handles all of the details of our event so our staff can stay focused on what they do best. With the ideas that Mark has brought to the table to wow our guests, I’m sure this is going to be our best event ever.

Mark Waxler has been a close colleague of mine for the last 15 years. We met through the Lodging association while operating as general managers for AAA four diamond properties in Massachusetts .
I have called him on numerous occasions to get his professional advice and recommendations. I am confident that Hoteliers and restauranteurs will benefit from his knowledge and experience. There has yet to be a topic where he is not knowledgeable as he stays one step ahead from the industry trends.
Again I am confident that anyone who uses his services will receive the best of tools to run a successful and profitable operation.

I have been acquainted with Mark Waxler since 1996 when I became a teacher in the Hospitality Department at Worcester Technical High School. My interaction with Mark became constant when I was appointed Department Head of the Hospitality Department. Along with my promotion our school was going through a major change regarding a move to a new campus including a new restaurant and dining area seating 110 along with a 150 seat conference center.
Mark became an asset of major significance lending a hand as my Chairman of the Hospitality Advisory Board, not only did he attend all of our meeting he hosted many at the Beechwood. This was a time that was extremely important giving us an area to be able to study recomendations and discuss ideas for the changes to come in privacy.
The closer we came to the opening of the new school the more we relized money that did not exist for many items such as new china was a very serious problem. Mark came to our aid by procuring all the china we would need. This was an amazing contribution to our new school. I asked for his help and he came through, we are still eight years later using much of the china he procured for us.
Mark initiated a program that allowed Hospitality and Culinary students to work on specific occasions earning a more than fare hourly wage, plus the extra training in a real world situation.
Mark has assisted Worcester Technical with bookings for clients from all over the world visiting our school with more than fare charges. He has been a boon to our school and myself personally. Mark is professional and a gentlmen at all times. Any organization seeking advice in the hospitality industry in any situation would be more tha satisfied.
I have had the pleasure of working with Mark Waxler for almost 18 years now. As the Publisher of the Premier dining and entertainment publication in Central Massachusetts and the largest event planner, I have had numerous business dealings with Mark.
He is innovative and insightful. He has provided me with wise counsel. He has made every event I have hosted at the Beechwood Hotel memorable.
I have found Mark unflappable and easy to deal with.
He has served as Chairman of Worcester Restaurant Week, which we produce. I also serve with Mark on the board of Destination Worcester and have worked with him when he was on the Board of the Worcester County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
